About Croydon Voluntary Action

Croydon Voluntary Action works to “promoting, supporting and developing effective voluntary action, community development and community activity for the benefit of the whole community within the London Borough of Croydon”. The Volunteer Centre, based in Centrale Shopping Centre, is a welcoming and friendly hub of information and guidance for volunteering opportunities throughout the Borough. https://www.cvalive.org.uk/

Our Partnership with Croydon Volunteer Centre

We are looking forward to working with, and supporting the Volunteer Centre as we both strive to improve our local communities through promoting and encouraging community activity. Our own volunteering opportunities at Sutton Community Farm go hand in hand with CVA’s mission, placing volunteers at the heart of our farm. http://suttoncommunityfarm.org.uk/about-us-sutton-community-farm/

Improving Customer Service and Lowering our Carbon Footprint

By joining our farm community as a Pick Up Point, the Volunteer Centre allows us to continue to bring flexibility to our VegBox service, providing customers who live and work in Croydon to collect their veggies during their lunch break or while shopping in Croydon Town Centre. This new pick up point may also be useful for residents living in flats without a concierge or other “leave safe” delivery options.

Using our Pick Up Point delivery option helps us to reduce our delivery carbon footprint as we are able to deliver several  VegBoxes to one location. Our Pick Up Points can be found throughout our delivery areas and include a range of local businesses including independent pubs, libraries, offices, and community-focused organisations. http://suttoncommunityfarm.org.uk/farm-shop/where-we-deliver-organic-vegetables/
