As the focus on food traceability intensifies in the midst of the horse-meat scandal, we thought we’d write a feature letting you know just where your VegBag comes from.
We grow as much of the veg as we can here at the farm, all using organic and permaculture principles. Since we’re still expanding our growing capacities – as a relatively new farm – we also source veg from a handful of local farms that we have close relationships with.
Two of these local growers supplied produce for this week’s bag:
Perry Court have been growing fruit and veg in nearby Kent for over three generations. Traditional methods of farming mixed with modern know-how on sustainable agricultural practises give a way of producing food that works in the long-term.
Situated in the heart of Kent, Ripple Farm has been certified Organic since 1989. The farm itself is essentially a market garden producing a wide range of vegetables, salad crops, herbs and some soft fruit.
