We will no longer be providing ‘Classic’ vegbags from January 2014 onwards. Those customers with Classic bags as their regular order will receive the equivalent size Gourmet bag instead – which we hope you’ll be happy with. If you are a Classic customer, please take the time to read this to see how it will affect you.
The reason for this change is that uptake of the Classic bags has remained low since we introduced them earlier this year. This would not be a problem (we want to offer as much choice as possible) except that it slows down our packing and delivery operation and creates disproportionate amounts of administration.
We know that some people value the Classic bags because the contents are slightly more predictable and consistent from week to week, and they tend not to have veg that might occasionally be unfamiliar.
However, we hope that, if this is your concern, you will take advantage of our ‘Preferences’ system. This means you can tell us what you don’t want to receive in your bag. If these come up, we’ll take them out and replace them with an alternative. Having looked at what other box schemes offer, we’re confident that we’re still offering a much bigger range of choice than most others, with four sizes to choose from plus our ‘dislikes’ function.
Customers with website accounts can find the ‘Preferences’ box online when you log in – just go ahead and fill it in. Other customers can email vegbox@suttoncommunityfarm.org.uk to state their dislikes.
Billing
Our Classic bags are slightly lower cost than our Gourmet bags. This means that we need to ask for your help to reflect this (thank you!):
- Can online customers please log in to your account, go to your regular order and remove your Classic bag from the basket, choosing a Gourmet bag instead. Then check out.
- Can customers who pay by bank transfer or recurring Paypal payments please amend your regular payments to us to reflect the difference in price (you can check Gourmet bag prices here). Please get in touch if you have any questions about getting the figures right!
