What a fun week we’ve just had. Last Tuesday we had our Less Then 50 dinner at Malcolm John’s Brasserie Vacharin restaurant in Sutton. Malcolm John is a big fan of our produce for its freshness, good taste and because it’s local. His restaurant is also a pick-up point for customers of our VegBags.
We were treated to an incredible 3 course meal with most food coming from our Farm – and the rest from our local network of organic farms. It was wonderful to see our food presented in such a gourmet fashion! The menu included roasted shallot & goat’s cheese soup, pumpkin ravioli, char-grilled peppers, borlotti bean cassoulet, to name a few.
Thanks to a great turn out, we were able to raise £400 towards our crowdfunding campaign.
On Wednesday, we had our usual volunteer day and community lunch. Then on Saturday, we had our annual Harvest Celebration. We do this each year to celebrate all the produce grown on the Farm and thank the community for their help. On the day we had lots of games, including pumkin toss, wellie throwing. We also had a delicious shared lunch, which included pizza making. And of course, the vegetable animal competition! Thank you for everyone that came along.
