Notes from the Field

What a beautiful week on the Farm. This week, Joris, Charlotte and our volunteers sowed carrots, fennel and beetroot. We also planted out sweetcorn and set up a our drip-pipe irrigation lines – a technique that helps us save water.

Last week we reported how our climbing beans were attacked by a bean seed fly, meaning we lost 90% of a bed! Thankfully, our second round of beans (planted a few weeks after) are stronger and surviving okay. We also found our garlic is under attack from wire worm – but the extent of damage is unknown yet – fingers crossed.
