Notes from the Field

polytunnel-sutton-farm

Thanks to the more settled weather of late, we have been able to complete a crucial stage of our propagation polytunnel build – we put its skin on. It was a long day for our growers Joris, Charlotte, Kev and a host of willing volunteers who worked until sundown to get the job done.

We’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has contributed to the project over the last several weeks, as we couldn’t have done it with out the time and skills donated by these generous volunteers. Now the tunnel’s up, we’ll be able to start propagating our tomatoes and peppers on schedule so that they’ll be ready for your VegBags over summer. You can see photographs from the build in our Facebook page.

Elsewhere on the farm, our onions sets have arrived and so, if the weather stays dry, we’ll be planting them too in the coming weeks.
