Come to Sutton Community Farm on Wednesday 30th October from 5pm – 7pm for a free-to-attend community film screening of “Queen of the Sun: What are the Bees Telling Us?”
“Queen of the Sun” is a profound, alternative look at the global bee crisis from award-winning filmmaker Taggart Siegel (director of “The Real Dirt on Farmer John”). Taking us on a journey through the catastrophic disappearance of bees and the mysterious world of the beehive, this engaging and ultimately uplifting film weaves an unusual and dramatic story of the heartfelt struggles of beekeepers, scientists and philosophers from around the world including Michael Pollan, Gunther Hauk and Vandana Shiva. Together they reveal both the problems and the solutions in renewing a culture in balance with nature.
We grow A LOT of vegetables at Sutton Community Farm that are heavily reliant on insect pollination! We have three beehives on the farm that do us invaluable pollination services.
So come and watch this film with us at Sutton Community Farm, in the Little Woodcote Estate, Wallington.
And if you’re not yet convinced, watch the trailer for the film here.
Members of the public and volunteers are invited to join us. All attendees will get popcorn!
If you would like to attend this screening, please email sonia@suttoncommunityfarm.org.uk to book your place.
