Last week, we hosted our Less Than 50 Dinner as part of Urban Food Fortnight with chef Malcolm John at his Sutton restaurant, Brasserie Vacherin. The menu was based around produce from our farm, prepared to perfection by Malcolm John and his team. Our farm’s tomatoes were turned into a savory sorbet, our pumpkins were pureed into handmade ravioli, our Florence long shallots were delicately balanced in a goat’s cheese soup and our kale was beautifully buttered as an accompaniment to some local lamb. In another word: delicious.
A huge thank you to everyone who attended and an extra special e-hug goes out to Heather, who won our auction for the ‘horn of plenty’ (pictured above) and took home all that veg for £60! We’re still totting it up, but all proceeds from the evening’s ticket sales are going to be put towards our crowdfunding campaign, so everybody there hopefully had a great time, ate some excellent food and, most importantly, made a real differerence to the future of our farm. So thank you. We’re thinking of turning it into a seasonal event, so watch this space for a Christmas meal perhaps..!
