Sonia Cropper

Sonia joined the farm team in June 2017 as the Community Engagement Coordinator. Her job is to oversee the coordination of all visitors to the farm, a role which spans volunteer management, educating children on school visits, hosting corporate team challenge volunteering days and working with groups of young people with learning disabilities. Enthusing adults and children about the joys of growing and eating vegetables is a key passion of Sonia’s, of which the farm provides a perfect setting!

Sonia is also keen to create more opportunities for vulnerable adults and young people with higher needs to be able to come to the farm and have meaningful positive experiences. The merits of improved mental and physical health as a result of spending time outside engaging with horticultural fun cannot be overstated, and it’s Sonia’s job to facilitate opportunities for as many people as possible to have the chance to benefit by coming to the farm.

Sonia is also passionate about the politics of sustainable food production on the local level, and prior to joining the farm team she had a number of jobs within the spheres of organic veg production and distribution, as well as environmental education. She previously worked for Growing Communities in Hackney, Forty Hall Farm in Enfield and ecoACTIVE in Hackney.
