Alice Brown

Alice joined the team in May 2018 as the Farm Business Manager and was officially elected as a member of the Management Committee in August 2018. The role at the farm is a great combination of her previous experience, firstly at a food company, and later the On Purpose programme which is all about helping social enterprises scale up.

During 4 years at Gousto, on of the UK’s fastest growing companies, Alice managed the buying and quality teams. She worked on developing the team and processes to match the company’s growth and deliver its vision of making it easy for families to cook at home.
During the On Purpose Associate Programme (a development programme for professionals looking to transition into careers that use business for good), Alice worked for both a bus company and a water and sanitation charity. She enjoyed helping both businesses deliver their very different social impacts – through a marketing project to sell toilets in Madagascar and a software implementation project helping the bus company become more efficient.
Alice is passionate about the power of social enterprise, and eager to guide Sutton Community Farm to financial self-sufficiency whilst maintaining the high impact work with the local community already achieved.
