How It Works

We grow fruit and veg on our farm and buy additional produce from other organic farmers that we sell via our online farm shop. Everything is seasonal and fresh, and all of the food has been grown in harmony with nature without the use of chemical pesticides or fertilisers.

Ordering

Farm customers can order VegBoxes as well as individual portions of fruit and veg, eggs, bread, honey, grains and pulses from our online shop.

Orders need to be placed in advance, and our ordering deadline is midnight on Sunday for deliveries and collections the following week.

New customers need to set up an account with us, which you can do here.

You’ll need to add payment details via your account before we can process any orders, but once you have created your account and added payment details you are ready to add items to your order!

Items that you add to your order, as once only, or at a frequency will then appear in the Your Orders panel. Any items in this panel will be processed and delivered to your home or your chosen pick up point for that week.

Our flexible ordering options:

  • Order a VegBox, or individual items, or a mix of the two
  • Tell us your Fruit and Veg Dislikes, via your online account, and we’ll swap them for another item. You can add up to 3.
  • Amend orders by adding or removing particular items before midnight on Sunday
  • Amend orders up to 6 weeks in advance
  • Easily cancel deliveries in advance for weeks you will be away

Payment

Our secure payments system is managed by GoCardless. Payment is taken around the same time as your delivery, for the value of your order delivered that week.

You will only be charged in the weeks that you are receiving an order.

Donate Veg for Charity

You can add a donation product via your online account to support our Donate Veg for Charity scheme, helping to provide fresh fruit and veg to the 9 food banks we partner with inside our delivery area.

  • To add a one-off donation, set the product frequency to ‘once only’ and the order date you would like.
  • Or you can set up a regular donation with a frequency and start date to suit you.

Our Business Model

Sutton Community Farm is a community enterprise, owned and run by the community.

Volunteers from the local community work together to achieve the bulk of the work each week, giving their time to a project they believe is worthwhile. The majority of income for the farm comes from online sales through our shop – it is fundamental to the ongoing success of the farm.

The farm aims to be profitable and financially self-reliant, and any surplus trading income is reinvested in the farm. This enables more opportunities for the community, such as training schemes for new food growers or volunteering opportunities for people with learning disabilities.

By selling organic food from other farms and suppliers, we can offer a greater variety of produce to our customers. This business model also helps to support more organic farmers’ livelihoods and contributes to building a more sustainable food system. We pay our farmers and suppliers a fair price for well-produced food that respects the environment. We also prioritise minimising packaging and reducing food waste.
