Open Weekend at Sutton Community Farm – 5th & 6th September 2020

Sutton Community Farm will open its doors to the public on Saturday 5th September and Sunday 6th September. Join our growers for a fascinating, personal tour around our land. You will have the chance to see what veg is growing and learn about biodiversity and wildlife at the farm.
 
In light of the social distancing measures we are offering timed tours (for up to 7 adults and 3 children throughout the day).
 

The Open Weekend will feature:

 
– 15 tours each day starting at 10am lasting roughly 30 minutes. Last tour starts at 3pm
– Freshly made seasonal salads and cake available for purchase, plus hot and cold drinks
– A chance to relax on site with outdoor seating (and social distancing measures in place)
– An opportunity to find out more about our VegBox scheme
– An opportunity to find out more about how to get involved in the farm through volunteering or becoming a member
– A chance to meet some of the staff team and volunteers of the farm
 
In order to provide safe space for our visitors we need to limit the tours to 10 people. Please book your preferred slot in advance. Tickets are £5 (free for under 12s).

FAQs

Can I make payments by card at the event?

Yes – we will have card machines on site which can be used to buy food and drink. We will not be accepting cash at the event. In order to attend the event, you must be buy a ticket in advance via eventbrite. There will be no tickets available on the door!

Can I bring my dog to the farm?

Yes – you can bring your dog but you will need to keep it on a lead, and ensure that it doesn’t run wild in the vegetables or agitate other attendees.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

No – there is no need to print your ticket, we will have a printed attendee list.

Where shall I park?

Car parking is limited, so please consider coming by public transport, bicycle or on foot if you can. If you do intend to drive please park on Woodmansterne Lane (SM6 0SW). The pedestrian entrance to the farm is in the hedge opposite Flitton’s Nursery.

How will you make sure the event is Covid secure?

We have carried out a full risk assessment in line with government and industry guidance which can be viewed here. Timed tours, and suitable arrangements of food service and eating areas will allow for social distancing. Hand washing facilities will be available, as well as hand sanitiser in the food and drink area. Please help us keep the event safe by staying at home if you have symptoms, have recently returned from a country which requires you to quarantine, or if you suspect for any reason you have come into contact with the virus.
