Our first tomato has turned red! How exciting! And our first cucumbers are coming through now, along with our courgettes and broad beans which we are, of course, including in our VegBoxes this week.
We’ve planted out all our purple sprouting broccoli and we have successfully replanted our climbing beans after their initial disaster – they’ve transplanted well and are looking healthy. We’ve also planted out the first out our winter squash and our sweetcorn with the help of corporate volunteering groups from Sutton Council and Google (pictured) last week – there are some more photos on our Facebook of the teams in action, so be sure to check them out!
This week we’re planting the last tranche of our cucumbers and peppers, so by the end of the week all our poly tunnels will be fully planted and we’ll be harvesting and packing courgettes, broad beans, basil, kale, chard and salad from our fields for this week’s VegBoxes.
