Double Bill Documentary Film Night – Wednesday 22nd January 2020

On Wednesday 22nd January we will host a back-to-back of two short documentaries exploring different themes relating to Britain’s food system. This film night is free to attend, and members of the public and volunteers are invited to come along.

First, we will watch “100 Miles and 2 Mouths” – a half hour short film made by two women who decided to only eat food from within 100 miles of their home city of Bristol, to find out what it truly means to eat local. These two women filmmakers are the same team behind the beautiful Landworkers’ Alliance film “In Our Hands”.

Secondly, we will watch “Apocalypse Cow: How Meat Killed the Planet” – a 45 minute documentary made by George Monbiot about the future of livestock farming, arguing that perhaps it could become obsolete in the wake of scientific developments in the realm of lab-grown food sources.

We will have a discussion afterwards, as there’s no doubt it’s bound to stir up some interesting conversation points!

This film night will be here at the farm on Wednesday 22nd January, from 5pm – 7pm.

If you’d like to come, please email sonia@suttoncommunityfarm.org.uk so we can make enough popcorn!
