Jo Waller

Jo has spent most of her career as a biomedical scientist and was always interested in how the human body works. She is now employed at Nickel Support working with young people with learning disabilities.

5 years ago Jo became concerned about the lives of farmed animals, and decided to become a health food vegan. Luckily for her Sutton Community Farm was on her doorstep. She has been amazed at how delicious seasonal, organic fruits and veg are, and at how much her physical and mental well-being has improved. She hopes that she never has to go back to supermarket imitations!

Jo has been a volunteer at Sutton Community Farm for 4 years and loves being part of the team, handling beautiful veg, receiving huge work satisfaction and having a laugh. She has also made some fabulous friends at the farm.

Jo joined the management committee for a period of six months in 2019 to find out more about running a social enterprise. She also wishes to do everything that she can to ensure that Sutton Community Farm continues to be able to provide her with fresh, local, super-nutritious food grown to organic principles, and remains a friendly, life-affirming place for us all to visit, volunteer and enjoy.
