Arranging a Visit (Not Currently Possible)
For 2024, we’ve made the difficult decision not to welcome any school groups to the farm: for the time being, we are planning to focus our staff’s capacity on work that will make our farm more resilient, while creating further opportunities for the wider community.

Educational Visits
Over the years, we have welcomed school groups to the farm. Our farm creates opportunities for children to gain a better understanding of how food is grown, by covering such topics as:
- Plant life-cycles
- Soil health
- Crop rotation
- Composting
- Biodiversity
- Seasonal eating
- Vegetable diversity
Visits are appropriate for both primary and secondary school children, and can be tailored to complement what is being taught in the classroom. Being out in the fields and fresh air makes the learning experience more real, and it’s also fun.
Visits are scheduled for between two and four hours, and may include the following activities:
- Tour of the farm
- Interactive games about food
- Seed sowing
- Biodiversity discovery
- Planting out
- Harvesting
- Clearing and composting
- Cooking freshly harvested vegetables
