Notes from the Field

On Saturday, we said goodbye to Kev who (sadly for us) is moving out of the area. He gave one last compost workshop, getting everyone involved in filling our three, huge compost bays. We also planted out a lot of wild rocket into the field (pictured) and fervently rewarded ourselves with pizzas from the recently-refurbished cob oven and a spot of Scottish dancing.

This week, Sam went to the Surrey Organic Gardening Group regular monthly meeting to talk to its members about the farm and answer their questions. The group also arrange group visits to public gardens and other places of interest, so worth looking up if you’d like to get more involved with like-minded people in our locale. Yesterday, we were proud to host the quarterly Community Food Growers Network meeting, where they reflected on their work so far and discussed their next steps – another handy group to know if you’re interested in keeping up to date with growing issues, events and seed swaps.
